The Use of AI in Healthcare

The AI industry has undoubtedly undergone significant changes and developments throughout recent years, in which AI has increased its ability to perform in specific fields. Capabilities in fields such as research and data analysis easily surpass the work of humans due to the instantaneous calculations performed by AI. While AI boasts incredible capabilities in departments such as research, AI can also be an effective tool for assisting doctors in environments like hospitals. AI is growing as a potential solution to human error in a precise occupation such as a doctor. 

AI has multiple applications in healthcare, such as its ability to analyze image differences. For example, AI can detect potential anomalies such as tumors in an X-ray or an MRI with much greater accuracy and consistency than conventional doctors. While this is an effective solution to aid doctors in the workplace, there are still cases where an AI can take over a doctor's job entirely. Currently, AI remains a tool that assists doctors. 

The assistance that can be provided is more than just analysis-based. AI can analyze past health records to deduct diagnoses based on previous mild symptoms to effectively identify signs of disease earlier than doctors. Because of this, there is a much higher chance to reduce the risk before it becomes a hazard to the patient's health. 

As progress is made in AI development, more applications for the newfound tool have been discovered. AI has remained a reliable tool for conducting research through prompt-based AI, such as ChatGPT. Because of this, AI's potential to accomplish great things in the future is high but comes with certain risks. For example, if AI overtakes some occupations, many lose stable income. AI wipes out many jobs, especially in areas involving medical care. 

Many continue using AI as a tool to help research, give ideas, or help synthesize information. However, it's essential to use such a powerful tool carefully to avoid letting the AI do the work for you. The intention of AI has never been to run human civilization entirely but rather to aid us in what we do.
